Of those who survive critical illness, many experience Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS)—a collection of new or worsening impairments in the cognitive, physical, or mental health realm after a stay in the ICU1.

More than
5,000,000
patients are admitted annually to U.S. intensive care units (ICUs)2.
80%
of patients who are mechanically ventilated experience delirium3

We have organized a simple walk of any distance to challenge our bodies while raising awareness of this complicated syndrome. Individuals can walk anywhere in the U.S., either on their own or with loved ones. It is our desire that every ICU survivor living with PICS knows they are not alone and that there is hope and support for their journey.

If you can’t walk on September 27, walk any day in September. Walk wherever you are, for as far as you are able.
